Skippy Doodles

Since i moved in to this studio i've been trying to figure why every time i come and go i can hear these predatory animal sounds coming over a PA system somewhere off in the distance. at first it appeared to be coming from the energy company maintenance facility directly across the street. for weeks, as i walked by peering through the mesh fence to catch glimpses of trucks with mad max sized tires and rows and rows of giant spools containing miles and miles of cable, i could hear these sounds eerily echoing over the landscape. keeping burglars away? but then what kind of burglars would be fooled by what sounded like a zoo in chaos? and i could't help but imagine what sort of creatures would produce such noises. birds of prey? wild dogs? seals in heat? i swear i heard a monkey in there at some point. but there's one particular hawkish cry that i suspect i've heard before in television and movies or something. He-Man perhaps... Ewoks: battle for endor?
anyway, one night for no particular reason, i decided to try a slightly alternate route home, and as i strolled down this other block i noticed a familiar smell become steadily more pungent. then i passed by a giant bay door a few stories high, and inside was a small mountain of garbage being eaten away some over sized industrial scooper with a tiny man operating it inside.
the mystery was over. a waste management plant was located on the other side of the block and appeared to be the source of the recorded wild life sounds; the purpose of which was to scare away unwanted feral mobsters and homeless cops from sniffing around.
